After graduating from Sonoma State University in California with a degree in English literature and creative writing, I didn't really know what I wanted to do. 

I thought about becoming an elementary school teacher, so I volunteered as a teacher's assistant in several public schools.

My first professional job was working with special needs children who had both physical and emotional problems. Helping these children and others was very fulfilling for me and I enjoyed doing this for several years.

Then a big change came into my life. I had the opportunity to move to Germany.
I wanted to continue working with children with special needs, but since my university degree was not recognized at the time, it wasn't possible.

So I had to figure out another way to make a living.
Since I was a native English speaker, I was able to work as an English teacher at a language school for adults and children. That was over 20 years ago, and I've been enjoying helping people become better English speakers ever since.

MY PASSION

Although my passion for music began at an early age, it took me many, many years to build up my confidence enough to play in front of an audience. As a teenager, I only played for my cat. But now, when I see the smiles on people’s faces and the spark in their eyes when I share my passion with them, I forget myself and just enjoy the moment.

Learning English is like learning songs. You learn the melody and the rhythm from listening and repeating over and over again until you can sing by heart. English is a skill you develop just like learning an instrument. If the passion is there, there’s nothing that can stop you. And most of all, you enjoy it!
